JACKSON -- The city of Jackson is still looking for input on whether to impose a curfew on juveniles, Mayor Paul Sander said.

"Different organizations are still gathering information," Sander said at Monday night's meeting of the Board of Aldermen.

City officials are waiting for word from those organizations -- including the Optimist Club and the Jackson Police Department -- before taking any action, he said.

"We're looking to have some decision on curfew, no curfew, some curfew hopefully by sometime in September," he said. "We're going to put this to rest one way or the other."

The issue arose most recently in June when a woman complained about teens gathering outside her home and playing loud music. Windows in the woman's home had been shot through twice.

In other action, aldermen approved annexation of Rosewood Estates third subdivision and set public hearings for rezoning portions of the property to R-2 single-family residential for Sept. 3.

Owners of the property are Gerald and Catherine Stoverink.
