Republican vice-presidential candidate Jack Kemp's tentative schedule has him at the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse in Jackson at 12:30 p.m. Friday, congressional candidate Jo Ann Emerson confirmed.
The list of dignitaries expected at Friday's event include U.S. Sen. John Ashcroft, State Auditor and gubernatorial candidate Margaret Kelly, State Sen. Peter Kinder of Cape Girardeau and State Rep. Pat Naeger of Perry County.
Emerson said tickets will be required for the event. They will be available at the County Republican Headquarters, 231 S. Broadview in Cape Girardeau.
"We're excited that Jack Kemp is scheduled to come to Jackson this Friday," Emerson said in a press release. "He will discuss conservative issues that we all share across the political spectrum -- pro-life, pro-guns, pro-prayer, pro-individual responsibility and pro-tax relief for working families."
She said the scheduled visit indicates Missouri remains a key state in the Republican presidential campaign.
A spokesman at the Dole-Kemp campaign headquarters in Washington, D.C., said exact details should be made public this morning.
For ticket information, call the local Republican Headquarters at (573) 339-7999.
