JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) -- Three adults have been charged with felony child endangerment after investigators removed four children under the age of 5 from what they described as a filthy home.
One of the children, a 4-year-old boy, weighed only 22 pounds, 8 ounces.
The boy, a 2-year-old girl and 4-month-old girl were taken from a home south of Joplin on Monday. Their 5-year-old brother was taken into state care while at school.
Paul L. Kubie Jr., 27, and his wife, Chasity V. Kubie, 26, and mother, Sharon Twocrows, 50, were charged Wednesday.
The Kubies are the parents of the two girls, and aunt and uncle to the boys. Twocrows is the grandmother of all four children.
