Openings remain in Tuesday's beginning Internet training offered by the Southeast Missourian. The class will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Dempster College of Business.
The class is designed for beginners who want to learn more about the Internet and World Wide Web. Practical surfing tips will be offered along with informational handouts.
Instruction is limited to a single session. Each class is limited to 38 people so each has a computer.
The training classes are co-sponsored by Southeast Missouri State University.
In addition, the Missourian staff is offering a new intermediate class on Jan. 19 from 5-9 p.m. Only five openings for that class remain. Cost of the intermediate class is $15.
The Missourian web crew has taught more than 1,000 people since first offering Internet training in spring 1997. Classes typically draw from a large region. Attendees have traveled from Benton, Sikeston, Marble Hill, Wyatt, Farmington, Ste. Genevieve, and Miller City and McClure in Illinois. Individuals trained have ranged from 8 to 94.
To reserve a spot, call Joni Adams or Peggy Scott at 335-6611 to register. Payment of $10 can be made at the class or brought to newspaper prior to Tuesday.
