The Southeast Missourian's "Flood of 1993" commemorative section will be finding homes in Florida, Michigan, New York and California and several states in between.
Brisk sales have been reported for the special 26-page section that appeared in the Missourian Friday.
Additional copies of the two sections, which include a total of 47 articles and 43 photographs 10 of them in color concerning the flood in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, are available at Missourian offices in Cape Girardeau and Jackson.
More than 1,800 extra copies were sold Friday, with destinations to no less than 26 states.
The Missourian published 700 extra complete newspapers and 1,500 additional copies of the flood sections and may consider another special press run if needed.
Office telephones have been busy, taking requests for additional copies.
Grace United Methodist Church will be sending out several copies, to people in other areas who have sent food and cleaning supplies to this area; many subscribers have purchased extra copies to send to friends; and several motorists passing through have purchased several copies to take with them.
