Larry Myers, president of Infinity Data Products Inc., has renewed his donation of 10 magazine subscriptions to the Jackson Public Library.

The subscriptions offer a diverse array of interests for the community. Subscriptions to Family PC, Modern Bride, Pet Life, Successful Farming, Working Woman, GQ, Walking, Wired, Vogue and Ebony have been donated.

Myers has supported the library in this way since 1999. Even the rack the magazines are held in, he donated.

Myers has been in computers since 1968 when main frames were state of the art. That continued until 1988 when he moved back to this area to be close to his elderly parents. It was then, Infinity Data Products at 1404 Old Cape Road was begun.

As the world of computers has gotten more and more complicated, their value as a tool of communication has increased in value as well.

Myers' goal is to solve computer problems. People bring their computers in from all over the tri-state area.

"We service any computer or printer and haven't been stumped yet," he said. "We try to work with people, we take credit cards, checks and cash."

Librarian Sally Pierce can testify to Myers' loyalty and support.

"Prior to 1998 when the first Internet computers were bought for the library, I was computer illiterate," she said. "Myers has been supportive throughout the complete change the library has experienced, with automation, etc."

Because of his support, she said, "I'm able to guide and help patrons with the library's computers."

Myers said he donates the subscriptions and installs the computers at a discount because "certain groups need things."

Myers has supplied the Jackson Fire Department with a monitor when it needed one and has done his best, pricewise, to supply the Jackson Police Department both on the organizational and individual level, as well as the Jackson Public Library.

The bottom line is, Myers believes in giving back to the community.

Communication and education are very important to Myers. Where else would he express such an interest but at the library?
