Construction crews are close to finishing major improvements near Interstate 55 and William Street.

The $1 million project could be finished before Thanksgiving, said Missouri Department of Transportation district engineer Scott Meyer.

"It is rapidly wrapping up," he said. "We are trying to get out before the Christmas rush."

The project includes dual left-turn lanes from William Street onto Mount Auburn Road, a continuous right-turn lane from the I-55 northbound off ramp to Mount Auburn Road and traffic signals at Farrar Drive and William Street.
