(Left to rigyht) The Inaugural Invitation, Inagural Ball Inviation, and the public events itinerary for the inagural festivities.

Vicki Abernathy has received an invitation to the Presidential Inauguration and she and Susan Estes, former president of Cape County Women Democrats, leave Jan. 17 for the event.

The invitation reads:

"The Presidential Inaugural Committee requests the honor of your presence to attend and participate in the inauguration of William Jefferson Clinton as President of the United States of America and Albert Gore, Jr. as Vice-President of the United States of America on Monday, the twentieth of January one-thousand nine hundred and ninety-seven in the city of Washington."

She also received an invitation to the Inaugural Ball. Which she is very pleased with.

"This is the icing on the cake to being a delegate," Abernathy said.

The only thing that would be better than the invitation to the inauguration for Abernathy would be a chance to talk with the President in the Oval Office.

"This is about our country and what is happening in our country. This is history and I hope to someday tell all of my grandchildren."

"I am honored that I represented the state of Missouri at the convention."

Abernathy and Estes will return to Jackson on Jan. 21.
