The Jackson Police Department provided inaccurate information to the Southeast Missourian regarding recent drug-related arrests, Capt. Bob Bonney said Thursday.
The police department provided a list to the newspaper as evidence of its increased drug enforcement within the city limits. The article about drug enforcement as well as the list appeared in Tuesday's edition.
On the list were the names of Travis Leimer, 23, Zachary Statler, 18, Shawn Vandeusen, 18 and Emilie Statler, 24. Bonney said these four individuals, who live in the same apartment at 631 E. Adams, have not been arrested. He said paperwork has been filed with the prosecuting attorney's office regarding their arrests, but no action has been taken.
He said there was a miscommunication with the prosecuting attorney's office that resulted in releasing the names.
