JACKSON -- Jackson native Dawn Callier has been named division manager of public relations for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Arkansas. She will be responsible for the company's internal and external communications, including employee information, advertising, consumer affairs and media relations.
Callier is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Fluegge of Jackson. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1973 and also from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
Callier, 35, began her career with Southwestern Bell in 1978 in St. Louis, working in public relations.
For three years, she worked with Southwestern Bell Telecom, then rejoined the parent company, Southwestern Bell in 1987 in Oklahoma City. Callier was in St. Louis before taking the Little Rock, Ark., position.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the International Association Business Communicators and the Advertising Federation. Callier has been active in the YWCA, United Way and Big Brothers\Big Sisters.
Her husband, Ralph Callier, has an accounting business.
