The U.S. attorney's office released the following information Monday for defendants who appeared before U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr.
Name: Teresa A. Aguilera
Residence: Perry County
Charges: Armed Bank Robbery
Summary: Aguilera was sentenced to 100 months on one felony count of armed bank bobbery, one felony count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and one felony count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. About 12:45 p.m. Dec. 14, Aguilera robbed the People's Bank of Altenburg, Mo. She entered the building wearing a ski mask, dark gloves and sunglasses. She was also holding an SKS semi-automatic rifle and carrying an oversized bank bag. She then approached the teller counter, pointed the rifle at two tellers and demanded money. She left the bank with about $9,000. Aguilera admitted that she took the money from the bank by using force, violence and intimidation. She also admitted that in doing so, she assaulted and put the life of tellers, other bank employees and customers in danger by use of a dangerous weapon.
