The U.S. attorney's office released the following information Monday for defendants who appeared before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey.
Name: Gregory T. Taylor
Residence: Jackson
Charges: Possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime
Sentence: 87 months
Summary: On Nov. 4, federal and local officers executed a search warrant at Taylor's a residence on Hanover Street in Cape Girardeau. They found about 14 pounds of marijuana, digital scales, zip-top bags and a .22-caliber handgun. Taylor consented to the search of another apartment he was renting. During the search of the Jackson apartment, authorities found a 9 mm pistol. He admitted that both handguns belonged to him and that the marijuana found in the home was his. Taylor also admitted that he was planning to sell the marijuana.
