In federal court: Cape Girardeau man sentenced on gun charges

The U.S. attorney's office released the following information Tuesday for defendants who appeared before U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr.

Age: 27

Charges: One felony count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Sentence: 120 months

Summary: On Oct. 3, a Cape Girardeau police officer saw Mixon hiding a 9 mm pistol in the return of an unused soda machine. Mixon was previously convicted of burglary and a federal charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
