Summary: On Jan. 1, 2006, officers of the Malden police department responded to a call about a man with a firearm. Officers found Williams holding a .410 gauge shotgun and seized it, according to a news release from the federal prosecutor's office. Williams said he had been attacked and was defending himself. Williams appeared to have been struck on his head just prior to police contact, according to the news release.
