The Illinois State Police District 22 announced Tuesday its troopers will conduct Roadside Safety Checks during March. Federally funded programs will enable troopers and local police officers to be hired for overtime details. These safety checks will encompass all of District 22, which includes the southernmost seven counties of Illinois.
The checks are funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
