CAIRO, Ill. -- The Illinois State Police on Tuesday issued a call for help finding a suspect or suspects in the shooting deaths of two women discovered in a burned house Nov. 16 in Cairo.

CAIRO, Ill. -- The Illinois State Police on Tuesday issued a call for help finding a suspect or suspects in the shooting deaths of two women discovered in a burned house Nov. 16 in Cairo.

Beatrice Barber, 29, of Cairo, and Eva Hill, 27, of Charleston, Mo., died from gunshot wounds, police said soon after their bodies were discovered in a home at 628 37th St. The bodies were discovered by firefighters responding to a blaze at that address.

"Officers are aggressively pursuing leads in the case and are requesting anyone with information to call the Illinois State Police," a news release issued Tuesday said. "What may be perceived as a minor or insignificant piece of information may be a vital piece of evidence that could help solve the case."
