WOLF LAKE, ILL.-- In the Shawnee National Forest, a stretch of LaRue Road No. 345, known as Snake Road, will be temporarily closed for spring reptile migration. The section of road from mile post 5 and post 3.8 will be closed through May 15 as snakes and amphibians migrate from winter hibernation to their swamp habitats. Some species are identified as threatened and endangered by the state of Illinois and the U.S. Forest Service. For more information, call (618) 833-8576.
