McCLURE, Ill. -- Police honed in on an adult video store where they allegedly found illegal substances Thursday. The Southern Illinois Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Brown Bag Video in McClure and found thousands of packets of synthetic marijuana, "bath salts" and other designer products containing illegal substances, according to a drug task force news release. The search warrant was the result of a nine-month investigation. A subsequent search at an employee's residence resulted 1,000 additional packets being seized. Sean Davis, 23, of McClure, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. The Illinois State Police, Alexander County Sheriff's Department and Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force collaborated on the effort. Illinois passed a law in July 2010 banning all synthetic cannabinoids. The law went into effect Jan. 1. The state banned bath salts in July. The drug has been linked to numerous deaths around the country, and on April 27 Illinois had what is believed to be its first overdose death from the substance.
