MINER, Mo. -- A Caseyville, Ill., man is in custody on a $200,000 bond charged with seven counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and one count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to cultivate.
According to a Miner Police Department news release Sunday night, Brian Haines of Caseyville was arrested by authorities after a traffic stop at 8:27 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 55.
The statement said during the vehicle stop, Miner police officer Ryan Medlin requested the assistance of Scott County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit to search the vehicle.
The search revealed more than $13,000 in cash, a large quantity of marijuana seeds and a large quantity of a controlled substance, according to the statement.
Miner police launched an investigation after finding the cash and narcotics and learned that a portion of the cash was suspected to have been taken during an October bank robbery in Alton, Ill., the report said. The narcotics and seeds were alleged to be linked to an indoor hydroponics marijuana growing operation near Caseyville.
The case is still under investigation.
