JONESBORO, Ill. -- Authorities continued Saturday to investigate a double homicide involving a Jonesboro couple. JONESBORO, Ill. -- Authorities continued Saturday to investigate a double homicide involving a Jonesboro couple.

The bodies of Robert Pitts Sr., 45, and his wife, Marcia, 43, were found early Friday morning in their home at 107 North Acre Lane.

Union County Sheriff David Livesay said in a written statement that police officers found the bodies at 7 a.m. after being contacted by a concerned friend. Livesay said a suspect was in custody on unrelated criminal charges.

As of late Saturday afternoon, a sheriff's department spokesman said no charges had been filed.

In addition to the sheriff's department, the case is under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Jonesboro and Anna police departments.
