The Ill-Mo Boys, a group of musicians known for old-time country music from the Midwest, will perform free concerts Saturday and Sunday.
The Saturday concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater at Trail of Tears State Park. The concert Sunday will be presented at 4:30 p.m. at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site.
The band specializes in dance tunes, blues and rags native to the Midwest and has two recordings, "Fine as Frog's Hair" and "Timely Old Tunes from Ill-Mo and Beyond."
The members gave their first performance in Chicago in 1985 and have played regularly at traditional music festivals, private parties, folk clubs and old-time square dances since then.
All three now hail from the St. Louis area. The players are Curtis Buckhannon on mandolins, Jim Nelson on guitar and Geoff Seitz on fiddle and percussion.
