An ice-skating performance will be presented Saturday to benefit a disabled 11-year-old Scott City, Mo., boy.
Ryan Miller, son of Sonya and Tommy Miller, is scheduled to leave Sunday to spend two weeks at a clinic to learn to walk. Miller has cerebral palsy and has spent most of his life in a wheelchair. He was accepted into the treatment program after he spent three hours with one of the clinic's therapists and took his first four steps.
The clinic costs $15,000.
Miller's 8-year-old sister, Myriah, is a skater at The Ice in Cape Girardeau where the benefit will be held, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. She has been skating since age 3.
Skaters performing Saturday have raised at least $100 in donations to help defray Miller's costs.
Donations will be accepted.
