Traffic was slowed on Interstate 55 on Friday after a two-vehicle crash that resulted in minor injuries.

The left lane of northbound I-55 at the Diversion Channel was closed when a motor home in the right lane switched lanes and hit another vehicle, Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey said. The crash closed the left lane for less than an hour.

Four people were taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, Hickey said.

The crash happened about 2 p.m., and the left lane was reopened before 3 p.m.

Scott City police were called to a rear-end accident just south of Cape Girardeau on I-55 about the same time, the Scott City Police Department reported. It was unclear whether anyone was injured.
