Do you know a hero? Today is the last day to nominate a special man, woman or child for special recognition at Six Flags of St. Louis during Super Heroes Days, July 11-14.
The contest is co-sponsored by Six Flags and the Southeast Missourian newspaper.
Individuals worthy of nomination should have demonstrated courage, selflessness or bravery in the face of adversity, according to a Six Flags spokesman.
The nomination should detail the individual's contributions in 500 words or less. The essay should include the official entry blank along with documentation of a heroic act. Documentation may include a news story, clipping, award or letter from a civic leader, emergency services personnel, clergy, etc.
An entry blank was published in the Missourian May 1, 3, 5, and is also available at the Southeast Missourian.
Winners will receive a complete travel package to attend Six Flags during the week of July 11-14. The package will include recognition in the park, two-day admission to Six Flags, four complimentary meals for the winner and up to four immediate family members, overnight accommodations for two nights, complimentary tickets to other St. Louis attractions, $500 savings bond, commemorative award certificate and the winner's name inscribed on a plaque mounted in DC Comics Plaza at Six Flags St. Louis.
Entries must be postmarked today.
