"We're going door to door. We're going to every residence, every barn," said Jefferson County Sheriff Stanley Barnes.

The inmates, who include two convicted killers and two others awaiting trial on murder charges, escaped Monday from the Montague County, Texas, jail about 30 miles from Jefferson County. They broke out by overpowering a guard with a homemade knife. Authorities say they drove off in the guard's sport utility vehicle.
