A Hunger Banquet scheduled for 6 p.m. today at Southeast Missouri State University has been postponed because of inclement weather.
Rebekah Lawson, a senior at Southeast who co-organized the banquet, said the event will be rescheduled for early April, but an exact date has not yet been decided. Tickets purchased for the event can be redeemed at the April banquet.
The event, meant to educate guests on global and local hunter issues, will be interactive and includes dinner.
Jamie Jones, a teacher with the Cape Girardeau School District, will speak during the banquet about malnutrition in the classroom and how it affects education.
Francis Tayie, a professor at Southeast, will share experiences from his childhood in Africa, where he relied on the World Food Programme for meals during a severe drought.
