A Hungarian Easter will be celebrated with Festivals, Families and the Arts today.

The program will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. at St. Mary's School, 210 S. Sprigg, in Cape Girardeau.

This program is designed for parents and children and offers a glimpse at how another country celebrates Easter.

Wenke Buttl, a student from Hungary who is attending Southeast Missouri State University, will relate how children in her country celebrate Easter.

Hungarian music, artifacts, library books and Hungarian Easter activities will be offered to make the program fun for all ages.

Festivals, Familes and the Arts programs take place on Saturday afternoons and are designed to provide an art and education experience for families with children ages 5-13.

The program is open to the public with an admission fee of $1 per person.

All supplies and material will be provided. Pre-registration is required.

Art teachers Brenda Seyer and Elizabeth Thomas will organize the art project. Guest speakers will be provided by Southeast Missouri State University's International program.

Alma Schrader will be the site of "Kite Making in Japan's Celebration of Spring," another program in the Festivals, Families and the Arts series, scheduled for April 9.
