COLUMBIA, Mo. -- University of Missouri officials are warning football fans to watch out for fake tickets to the games.
Police say hundreds of fake tickets were detected at last Saturday's game against Georgia.
Chad Moller, spokesman for the Missouri athletic department, said a review of ticket scanners after the game found 400 "missed scans." Moller says some of those scans might have been on legitimate tickets but most were probably fake tickets.
Capt. Brian Weimer said the tickets look and feel like real tickets. The only difference is the bar code on the bottom doesn't work.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reported that Moller said fake tickets are not new but the number found Saturday was abnormally high.
