Dr. Charles W. Jarvis of Texas, a professional speaker and platform humorist, will be speaker at the Cape Girardeau Executives Club meeting March 25 at Drury Lodge.
The dinner meeting starts at 7. Cost per person is $7. Reservations must be paid and/or cancelled by Monday. Members may bring prospective members.
Jarvis practiced dentistry 12 years. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1944 with a bachelor of science degree in engineering. He received a degree in dentistry from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1953.
He is the winner of the International Platform Association's Mark Twain Award for Humor, and was also elected to the International Speakers Hall of Fame.
The title of Jarvis' talk is "Open Wide, Please - and Laugh!" His talks are about the trials and tribulations of being a dentist today. He tries to keep his talks in the ratio of 85 percent humor and 15 percent message.
