JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Congressman Kenny Hulshof cancels a pair of gubernatorial campaign events because of votes on a Wall Street bailout package.
Hulshof was scheduled to outline his urban education plan during news conferences Monday in St. Louis and Kansas City.
But Hulshof spokesman Scott Baker says both events were canceled because Hulshof is in Washington, D.C., where the House is debating a $700 billion plan to rescue troubled financial companies.
Hulshof is the Republican nominee for governor. He is running against Democratic Attorney General Jay Nixon.
