Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is scheduled to speak in Cape Girardeau Friday at a fund raiser for Missouri Republican gubernatorial candidate Jim Talent.
Republican Huckabee, who has served as governor of Arkansas for three years, has assumed the chairmanship of the Southern Governors Association.
He visited Cape Girardeau on March 12, 1994 as Arkansas' lieutenant governor. He spoke at the "Dad the Family Shepherd" Christian men's conference.
Talent, a congressman from District 2 in the St. Louis area, is scheduled to meet with supporters at a $250-per-couple cocktail reception and a $1,000-per-couple dinner.
The reception will be held at 6 p.m. at the Royal N'Orleans Restaurant at 300 Broadway.
The dinner will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Kelsin Gallery, 13 S. Spanish.
U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson and state Sen. Peter Kinder will be hosts for the events.
