A new travel agency has opened in Cape Girardeau.
Travel Agency by HSCA was founded recently by Health Services Corporation of America, headquartered at 840 S. Mount Auburn Road. The agency is at 4 West Park Village.
Jane Healey has been named manager of the agency. Also named to a position with the agency is Donna Evans, a travel consultant.
"The travel agency is the latest venture of HSCA," Earl Norman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of HSCA, said in announcing the business. "It is an outgrowth of HSCA's extensive in-house travel services department."
Healey comes to her post with five years of experience in the travel industry, encompassing both leisure and corporate travel. Most recently she was manager of International Tours in Kansas City.
From 1988 to March, she was a travel consultant for Travel Gallery in Grandview. Prior to that she worked as a travel consultant for Ozark World Travel in Springfield.
Healey completed a number of comprehensive training courses sponsored by Ozark World Travel In-House Travel School in 1986. She attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
Norman said: "I am pleased that HSCA can start this venture by drawing on the skills and experience of someone like Mrs. Healey. She assumes her new position with an in-depth understanding of the travel business and she possesses superb skills in dealing with people a key ingredient for the success of our latest venture."
Healey, a native of Marshall, Mo., and her husband, attorney Marc Healey, reside in Cape Girardeau.
"I look forward to the challenge of being associated with HSCA and seeing the new travel firm participate in the growth of this region," said Healey.
Evans also has experience in the travel industry. Prior to joining HSCA, Evans worked as a travel counselor for Destinations Unlimited of Cape Girardeau. From 1987 to 1989, she was customer service agent for Britt Airways, which then operated in Cape Girardeau.
In addition to her experience in the travel industry, Evans has worked as head cashier of fiscal services for Johnson County Hospital in Warrensburg.
Evans and her three children, Kendra, 17, Brody, 11, and Kylie, 7, also reside in Cape Girardeau.
