STE. GENEVIEVE A hot air balloon exhibition will again be the highlight of Voyage de Sainte Genevieve on Oct. 24 in the French Colonial town.

Modern hot air balloonists will lift off over historic Ste. Genevieve to commemorate the first manned ascent of the "lighter than air machine" over Paris in the fall of 1783.

Launch time is 3:30 p.m. weather permitting at the VFW Khoury League Park at 3rd Street, north of Jefferson.

This year the Vess Soda and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch balloons will join the festivities along with 12 locally-sponsored balloons.

A Dixie Land band will perform for the crowd, and spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
