Horst Pharmacy, 2705 E. Jackson Blvd., provides a Prescription Assistance Program to low income families or individuals that qualify, and can not afford to purchase needed prescription drug medication.
Each drug manufacturing company has individual policies and procedures and patient eligibility requirements. The drug companies are constantly changing procedures and policies."Our company maintains all the current information," said Steve Horst, pharmacist. "We can print out applications to qualify the individual needing assistance." Requirements, policy and procedure and all other information needed to start the process can be printed out of the Horst Pharmacy computer system and provided to patients or processed by the pharmacy, depending on the individual drug company policy."We are very proud to offer this service to the people in need in our community," Horst said. "Sometimes we are allowed to fill prescriptions from our existing inventory and the drug manufacturer reimburses our pharmacy for the cost of the medication. A small processing fee is charged when our pharmacy is not permitted to fill the prescription."To learn more about our Prescription Assistance Program visit Horst Pharmacy. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays.
