Christian entertainer, singer and comedian Chonda Pierce will headline this year's Hoops for Life fundraising concert.
The show will be at 7 p.m. July 19 at the new Kinder Performance Hall at Cape Girardeau Central High School, organizer Amy Aldridge. Ticket sales are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Friday.
Pierce has written eight books, released 10 comedy DVDs and performed on a USO tour in Afghanistan. Eight of her DVDs were certified gold, and four went platinum. Her comedy is regularly featured on satellite radio, and she is a frequent performer at the Grand Ole Opry. Visit chonda.org for more information on Pierce.
Hoops for Life is an initiative to raise awareness and funds in the fight against pediatric brain cancer. It was started by Shannon and Amy Aldridge, the parents of Sahara Aldridge, who died from a malignant brain tumor. For more information, visit hoopsforlife.net.
