The Honey Bear Day Care at 213 N. Georgia recently held its annual Carnival Day.

"This is a day I invite all grandparents, siblings and friends to visit and enjoy themselves," said Pam Adams, owner.

Adams provides a jumpasaurus, wading pools, games and food that day.

Kids Bee Fit, a Main Street Fitness exercise program, had been at the day care, as well as Smokey the Bear, from the Conservation Department, Adams said.

The brightly colored, festive decorations, hung up or standing with supports were a real magnet to children's curiosity. These were all hand painted by Adams.

Keely Martin, a parent educator in the Jackson school system, took her 2-year-old son, Brayden, to the day care because it was small, offered structure and adhered to a curriculum-based agenda, she said.

"They even get report cards and a graduation ceremony when they go to kindergarten; it's much like a preschool," Martin said.

Adams has operated the day care since 1988.
