Homedco has moved into its new facilities, in a new building, located just south of its old quarters at 1749 Independence Street.
"The new building gives us three times our previous warehouse space," said Jim Dillon, manager of the Cape Girardeau branch of Homedco, formerly National Medical Homecare.
Homedco operates 193 branches nationwide, including the branch in Cape Girardeau. The firm is a provider of respiratory and infusion therapy in the home.
"We've been in Cape Girardeau eight years," said Dillon. "We offer services throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois."
The firm was founded when Jeremy M. Jones, president and CEO of Homedco, engineered and led a management buyout of the Home Health Care Group of National Medical Enterprises, Inc.
Originally founded as National Medical Homecare, the firm adopted the name "Homedco" in July of 1988.
Homedco, based in Orange County, Calif., has become the third largest provider in the traditional home health care industry, and achieves revenues of about $200 million annually.
The local branch employs nine persons three respiratory therapists, a registered nurse, sales representative, customer service representative and three driver technicians.
