CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A Charleston man suspected in a home invasion and robbery is in custody.
DeCarlos Clemons, 20, was arrested Sunday after officers from the Charleston Department of Public Safety received information he was at basketball courts in Lincoln Park.
"As officers approached, they observed Clemons flee on foot," said department director Robert Hearnes. "After a short pursuit, Clemons was taken into custody without further incident."
Clemons is being held in the Mississippi County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, felonious restraint and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bond is set at $200,000 cash only.
Clemons is a suspect in a robbery and home invasion investigated by the department May 17. During the incident, the suspect is alleged to have threatened the occupants of the house, including a 5-year-old, with a handgun, Hearnes said in a news release.
Clemons also had an active parole violation warrant and additional charges are pending.
