Holidays alter trash schedules in Cape, Jackson

Cape Girardeau and Jackson will alter trash schedules in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day.

In Cape Girardeau, trash and recycling that would normally be picked up on both Tuesdays will be picked up the day after each holiday. There will be no special collections and all other routes will remain the same.

In Jackson, garbage normally scheduled to be picked up Christmas Day will be collected the next day. Trash that normally would be picked up Jan. 1 will be collected the next day. The recycling center will also be closed for both holidays. There will be a special location for Christmas trees at the recycling center.
