Holidays alter Jackson trash schedule

The Jackson Sanitation Department will not collect trash Dec. 26 or Jan. 2.

Garbage that would normally be collected Dec. 26 will instead be collected Dec. 27. Garbage that would be collected Jan. 2 will be collected Jan. 3.

Additionally, the Recycling Center will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

The city will again be recycling Christmas trees at a special location at the Recycling Center. Residents are asked to completely remove decorations from the tree before hauling and dropping off the trees.
