Most federal, state, county and municipal employees will have a three-day weekend in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday on Monday.
All federal, state, and county offices will be closed Monday, as will most municipal offices.
The exception is Scott City, where city offices will be open during regular hours. The Monday solid-waste route in Scott City will also be run as scheduled. The regular board of aldermen meeting will begin at 8 a.m.
All banks and financial institutions will be closed on Monday.
Monday classes at Southeast Missouri State University will canceled, but all university offices will be open. Most public and private schools will also be closed Monday.
License fee offices in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and Chaffee will be closed Monday. There will be no driver's license examinations or commercial driver's license testing in Jackson on Monday.
Municipal offices in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and Chaffee will be closed.
The Jackson Board of Aldermen will meet on Tuesday, instead of Monday, at 7:30 p.m.
In Cape Girardeau, Monday's solid waste routes will be run on Tuesday. Tuesday's routes will run on Wednesday. There will be no Wednesday special pickups on Jan. 19.
The Jackson landfill will be closed Monday. Monday's trash route will be consolidated with Tuesday's routes.
The Cape Girardeau Post Office will be closed Monday. There will be no home delivery of mail, or box mail. Drop box mail will be collected Monday evening.
