JEFFERSON CITY -- Gov. Bob Holden is soliciting applications from potential nominees to replace circuit court Judge John W. Grimm until Dec. 18.

Grimm, who has served on the 32nd Judicial Circuit bench since 1993, recently announced his plan to resign effective Feb. 28. The circuit covers Cape Girardeau, Perry and Bollinger counties.

Holden will name a replacement who will serve until the November 2004 election. The winner of that election will fill the final two years of the term Grimm won in 2000.

Qualified applicants must be licensed lawyers who are at least 30 years old. They also must have been U.S. citizens for at least a decade, qualified Missouri voters for the preceding three years and residents of the circuit for the last year.

Applicants should send a resume and letter of intent including contact information to the Office of the Governor, Room 216, State Capitol, Jefferson City, Mo., 65101 or fax this information to (573) 751-1495.
