HISTORY DAY WINNERS

More than 400 students participated in the annual District 9 History Day at Southeast Missouri State University.

The theme of this year's contest was "Taking a Stand in History." Students in grades four and five competed in the Elementary Division. Students in grades six to eight competed in the Junior Division, and those in grades nine to 12 competed in the Senor Division.

The first three places in the junior and senior divisions will advance to state. State winners will advance to the national contest in June. History Day in Missouri is sponsored by the State Historical Society of Missouri and Departments of History at state and regional universities.
