HISTORICAL GROUP SEEKS NEW MEMBERS

The Greater Cape Girardeau Historical Association is seeking new members who are interested in the past and want to create a brighter future.

Membership applications can be sent to the association at 325 S. Spanish St. Both current and prospective members are invited to a wine and cheese reception from 7-9 p.m. July 12 at 303 S. Spanish.

Tickets to the party will be included in the membership cards. Prospective members should indicate on the application which area of work they are interested in. The committees include membership, tours, holiday decorations, archives and library, fund-raising, building maintenance, acquisitions and exhibits, grounds and newsletter.

Reservations for the reception will be accepted until July 5. For more information or to make a reservation, call 334-9040.

The annual home tour is tentatively planned for Sept. 15. Ten to 12 homes will be featured on the tour.
