Highway commission awards contracts

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded two construction contracts for Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties -- a bicycle and pedestrian improvements in Cape Girardeau and a pavement project in Bollinger County. RL Persons Construction Inc. of Poplar Bluff, Mo., received a $1,091,592 contract to complete four miles of bicycle and pedestrian improvements on Highway 74 along Shawnee Parkway and on Route K in Cape Girardeau. A $3,253,385 contract was awarded to Magruder Paving LLC of Troy, Mo., to resurface and add shoulders to 17 miles of Highway 51 from Highway 72 to Highway 34 near Marble Hill, Mo.
