SIKESTON, Mo. -- Construction of the drainage ditch bridge on Highway 114 in Stoddard County is expected to be completed in early October. The bridge had been slated to be completed in July but was delayed because of errors in the consultant's design, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. With the bridge nearing completion, plans are underway to replace a second Highway 114 bridge half a mile east of County Road 725. Work is expected to begin in mid-November. The latter span is expected to open to traffic by the end of the year. Signs and warning devices will be in place as improvements are made.
