The warning includes all of the Southeast Missourian coverage area — Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Perry, Scott and northern Stoddard counties — as well as many other Southeast Missouri counties. The warning is in effect from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

An approaching storm system will cause winds to gust as high as 50 mph, with steady speeds from 20 to 40 mph, starting Wednesday morning. The winds could cause trees already weakened by the ice storm to snap.
