PERRYVILLE -- Robert L. Herring, assistant professor of education at Southeast Missouri State University, has been selected as the commencement speaker at Perryville High School's Friday graduation ceremony.
Herring received undergraduate and graduate degrees at Southeast and a doctorate at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He has served as a teacher, principal and superintendent at Pemiscot County Special School District and as state Supervisor of Instruction for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
He was also assistant superintendent at Jackson Public Schools.
Commencement is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the Perryville High School stadium, when 178 students will receive degrees.
