The Cape Girardeau Public Library will host a special program on herb gardening at 7 p.m. on May 23.

Don and Carol Koehler will discuss the uses of home-grown herb -- including for cooking, health, cosmetics and fragrances -- and offer some advice on growing them.

The Koehlers have master gardening certificates and have been growing herbs for about 10 years. They belong to several garden clubs, including the St. Louis Evening Herbalist Club and the Jackson Men's Garden Club.

The program is free and open to the public. Accommodations for patrons with disabilities will be made upon request.
