The Heartland Writers Guild would like to announce the 1995 Heartland Writers Conference being conducted Aug. 3,4 and 5. This is a popular fiction/nonfiction conference which allows published and unpublished authors to communicate with others in their field.
This years conference will be held at the Coach House Inn at Sikeston. This year will offer writers the chance to listen tot and speak with Lesly Atlas, assistant editor with Harper Paperbacks; Ginjer Buchanan, executive editor with ACE Science Fiction and Fantasy; Doug Grad, editor at Books and Love Spell imprints. Writers will enjoy conversing with agents such as New York's Elizabeth Cavanaugh and Rob Cohen, and St. Louis' James B. Finn. Tom O'Haver, an independent screenplay reader for New Line Cinema will show screenplay writers how to get their work into the right hands, develop a successful "pitch," identify market trends and marketing strategies.
Writers who enjoy seminar topics such as Basics of Manuscript Submission, Category or Mainstream: The Difference in Women's Fiction, Screen Writing: How to Sell to Hollywood, From Manuscript to Book, and many, many more.
